July 2017 Prayer Letter

Greetings, pastors, churches and prayer partners!

Our family was truly blessed this past month to have the opportunity to travel to Missouri, the Dakotas and Minnesota. We were given the chance to present our ministry at Bible Baptist Church in Cassville, MO, Empire Baptist Temple in Sioux Falls, SD, New Testament Baptist Church in Larimore, ND, Fargo Baptist Church in Fargo, ND, Beacon Baptist Church in Grand Forks, ND, Bible Baptist Church in Grand Forks, ND, Northwood Baptist Church in Bemijdi, MN and Legacy Baptist Church in Buffalo, MN. During this time we got to spend a day at family camp, have lunch with the Paul Morrison family who are headed for the country of Swaziland, swim in Lake Bemijdi, and enjoy several hiking trails throughout this beautiful part of the country.

We want to especially thank New Testament Baptist Church in Larimore and Bible Baptist Church in Grand Forks for their kindness and hospitality in allowing us to use their missions quarters as a base for the past few weeks.

We are still hovering around the 85% mark of our needed monthly support.

Please continue to pray for the following items:

*Safety as we travel - Please continue to pray for traveling mercies as we will be in Indiana and then Arizona during the month of August.

*Securing of necessary items - Please be in prayer for the process of acquiring our certificate of sponsorship, visas, and a rental home.

*Start date - Our departure date for the field is October 30th. Please pray that the Lord will provide us with the remaining financial support that we are in need of. It will take approximately twelve more churches to partner with our ministry in order for us to be at 100% of our monthly support goal.

*Souls in Scotland - Please specifically pray for the receptivity of the individuals that we will encounter in Nairn and the surrounding villages towards the gospel.

June 2017 Prayer Letter

Greetings, pastors, churches and prayer partners!

As we now enter into the second half of 2017 it is hard to believe how quickly the year has gone by. Our family is now less than four short months away from relocating to Scotland. As our departure approaches we are beginning the initial phase of applying for our certificate of sponsorship and our visas. We are also researching rental properties online and hope to secure suitable housing within two months of our arrival date.

This past month was a bit slow for us, but we are grateful for the occasion to present our ministry at churches in Murray, KY; Martinsburg, WV; Dearborn Heights, MI; Casnovia, MI and French Lick, IN.

We are currently at 85% of our goal for monthly support.

Please continue to pray for the following items:

*Safety as we travel - Please continue to pray for traveling mercies as we will be in Missouri, Minnesota, and the Dakotas during the month of July.

*Securing of necessary items - Please be in prayer for the process of acquiring our certificate of sponsorship, visas, and a rental home.

*Start date - Our departure date for the field is October 30th. Please pray that the Lord will bring in the remaining 15% of our needed support.

*Souls in Scotland - Please specifically pray for the receptivity of the individuals that we will encounter in Nairn and the surrounding villages towards the gospel.

Thank you once again for prayerfully and financially helping us reach the field so that we can share the truth of God’s Word with Scottish people.

May 2017 Prayer Letter

Greetings, pastors, churches and prayer partners!
I am pleased to report that God continues to bless our family with opportunities to communicate our desire to reach individuals with the gospel in Scotland. We presented our ministry in eight new churches. Our travels this past month brought us to Antioch, IL, Du Quoin, IL, Cincinnati, OH, West Carrollton, OH, Amelia, OH, Sturgis, KY, Smith Grove, KY and White House, TN.
We also heard back from two additional churches this month regarding financial support and are currently at 84% of our needed support level.
Please continue to pray for the following items:
*Safety as we travel - Please continue to pray for traveling mercies as we will be in Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and West Virginia during the month of June.
*Securing of necessary items - Please be in prayer as we will soon begin the process of acquiring our certificate of sponsorship, visas, and a rental property.

*Start date - Our departure date for the field is October 30th. Please pray that the Lord will bring in the remainder of our needed support before it is time for us to relocate to the field.

*Souls in Scotland - Please specifically pray for God to prepare Scottish hearts and make them receptive to the message of the gospel. I was reminded of the necessity of the Spirit’s role in our evangelism when I read the account of Paul declaring the gospel in Acts 16:14. It is said that Lydia “attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul”, however, prior to her attentiveness to the message it says that her “heart the Lord opened”. We need the power of God to do a work in the lives of individuals in Scotland. Will you pray with us for God to prepare the soil of the hearts of those we will encounter in Scotland?

Thank you once again for your faithful prayers and support! May God bless you!

We had two new churches partner with us this past month and are currently at 82% of our needed monthly support goal
Please continue to pray for the following items:

*Savings goal - The Lord continues to meet all of our needs as we travel along on deputation and has allowed us to save nearly $45,000 of our $60,000 savings goal.

*Start date - Our departure date for the field is October 30th. Please pray that the Lord will provide the remainder of our needed monthly support. We need between 12-15 more churches to financially partner with our ministry.

February 2017 Prayer Letter

Greetings, pastors, churches and prayer partners!
The new year is moving along quite quickly with the month of February coming to an end and our family’s arrival in Scotland hastening on. It was a pleasure to be able to present our ministry in the following churches since our last update; Fairview Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS, First Baptist Church in Elkhart, KS, Faith Baptist Church in Johnson, KS, Victory Baptist Church in Lakin, KS, Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City, KS, Missionary Baptist Church in Lamar, CO, Crossroads Baptist Church in Carthage, MO, Victory Baptist Church in Osawatomie, KS, Lake Worth Baptist Church in Lake Worth, TX and First Baptist Church of Meadowview in Mesquite, TX. Our family is very appreciative of the hospitality and generosity expressed to us by each of these churches.
Missions conference season is upon us and as I write this letter we are delighted to be a part of our first of six missions conferences between now and the end of April. I always look forward to sharing our burden for the country of Scotland and seeing churches encouraged to persevere in their prayerful and financial support of foreign missions. It is also a joy to be able to spend time with pastors and fellow missionaries. My favorite aspect of attending missions conferences is being able to listen to preaching and to be personally exhorted to continue sharing the truth of God with others.
We are grateful to announce that several new churches have chosen to partner with our ministry and because of this we are currently at 76% of our support goal
Please continue to pray for the following items:
*Safety as we travel - It was a blessing to be in a lot of churches in our home state of Texas during the first two months of 2017, but as the year unfolds we will be doing much more commuting to various states as we finish our deputation journey. Please pray for traveling mercies for our family.

*Securing of necessary items - Please pray for us as we seek to acquire our visas this summer.

January 2017 Prayer Letter

Greetings, pastors, churches and prayer partners!
My family and I are very excited about the new year that is upon us. At the end of last year I felt the Lord leading us to step out in faith and make arrangements to move our family to Scotland in the fall of 2017. At the close of the month of December we were able to purchase airline tickets to relocate to our field of service. Our departure date is set for October 30th, 2017. We have begun making preliminary arrangements concerning our certificate of sponsorship into the country, as well as embarking on the process of acquiring my minister of religion visa, which will grant us entrance into the United Kingdom. We recently applied for passports for all of our children and will finalize our submission of required documents needed to secure visas by the month of August.
By God’s grace this past month has been a very busy and productive time on the deputation trail. We were able to present our burden for Scotland at thirteen churches in January. We have also seen a large increase in monthly support with five new churches graciously choosing to partner with our ministry. Our current monthly support goal is at 71%. We are thankful to God for His continued provision and are joyfully anticipating our arrival on the field this fall. We are trusting the Lord to supply us with the remainder of the support needed by the time we leave for the field.
Please continue to pray for the following items:
*Savings goal - God has faithfully met all of our financial needs throughout deputation and has allowed us to save all of our support that has come in thus far. We have had the finances to purchase our airline tickets and passports. After making these purchases our savings goal is currently at $25,000 and we hope to save another $25,000 to $30,000 between now and the end of October.

*Securing of necessary items - Please pray for us to be able to obtain our visas and a rental house in the town of Nairn before our departure date.
